Marcelo Ment's second solo exhibition in the city of Rio de Janeiro, took place in March 2015 at Galeria Homegrown in Ipanema, RJ.

For nearly 20 years, artist Marcelo “Ment” has been gracing the streets of Rio de Janeiro, other cities in Brazil and around the world with his graffiti.

Known for his abstract and stylized paintings of beautiful women, with piercing eyes and wild hair, MENT explores and continues to push his own boundaries with every exhibition.

With his solo show “CORAGEM” Ment explores the liberty and freedom of working with different mediums such as laser cut wood and designing with reckless abandon what comes naturally and organically, from his mind, directly to his moving hand on paper.

With no preliminary sketches, use of pencils or erasers he embraces mistakes and challenges himself to finish the piece in one continuous creative flow, demonstrating the courage of trusting your initial instincts, and forcing himself to continue moving forward and never looking back.

The solo show consists of 12 pieces, 5 of them are reoccurring shapes you can notice in his work over the span of his career, and painted on with his very unique and recognizable style. 7 works are on paper, 6 of them being his infamous beautiful women by him, all created equally with courage and perfect in their own way.
